This is an original watercolor on 300 lb. paper titled, The Valley. The bucolic scene depicts the San Geronimo Valley in Northern California where Jaqua resided for many years and where he raised his daughter. While he was surrounded by the beauty of the rolling hills and ranging cattle, he rarely used the familiar scenery as his subject, preferring instead, a foreign land or a lively urban cityscape. The painting showcases Jaqua’s lauded ability and technique in this medium. The painting is signed by the artist on the lower righthand side of the paper.
